Creative Direction, Curation, & Portrait Photography

Over the course of my career, I have built an extensive portfolio documenting the minds shaping contemporary culture - including prominent artists, musicians, actors, writers, and designers. Rather than treating portraiture as passive observation, my practice functions as a deep artistic collaboration, most recently evidenced by my time capturing Jessica Caldwell, writer and co-producer of Apple TV+’s Your Friends and Neighbors. Immersing myself within these creative communities has sharpened my reportorial eye, allowing me to distill complex human narratives and conceptual ideas into striking visual identities under demanding, fast-paced deadlines. This deep immersion has granted me an acute understanding of cultural sensibility, a keen eye for emerging talent, and an established network of creators. These relationships directly inform my holistic approach to visual direction - ensuring that every design, photograph, and illustration doesn't just decorate an editorial piece, but actively elevates the core spirit and journalistic integrity of the story.

For SoundExchange’s "Not That Kind of Royalty" advocacy initiative, I directed and photographed a high-end visual campaign featuring Tony and Grammy-winning artist Leslie Odom Jr. Set against the vibrant, design-forward backdrop of NYC's Whitby Hotel, the shoot captured the sophisticated yet deeply candid spirit of the RoyalTeas talk series. By marrying premium portraiture with the intimate, warm tone of a personal conversation, the imagery humanizes the crucial message of financial advocacy and digital royalty collection for independent creators.

For Theatre Development Fund (TDF) - the legendary non-profit dedicated to making the performing arts accessible to everyone - the annual "Costumes & Cocktails" gala is a vital lifeline. Partnering directly with TDF Executive Director Deeksha Gaur, I drive the visual narrative for this signature benefit held at TAO Downtown. With over 500 prestigious guests, Broadway artists, and industry leaders in attendance, the evening raises crucial funds for TDF's community programs while celebrating theatrical design excellence through the TDF/Irene Sharaff Awards. Each year, I direct and capture the vibrant, high-fashion energy of the room, visually articulating the profound impact of TDF’s advocacy.

Documentary Photography & Creative Direction

Commissioned by global talent network Andela, I spent two weeks on a documentary assignment across Brazil and Argentina to capture the real lives powering the remote tech revolution. The goal of the global "Humans of Andela" initiative was to look beyond the screen, spotlighting the diverse environments, daily rituals, and human stories of technologists living and working in South America. Through immersive, candion-location photography, the campaign humanizes global tech talent, showing how brilliance thrives when opportunity is decentralized.

Fine Artist, Curator, & Exhibition Design

Fine Artist, Curator, & Exhibition Design

Rooted in my background as a practicing visual artist, my creative methodology is deeply informed by fine art principles and tactile storytelling. Maintaining an active studio practice and curating contemporary gallery exhibitions has sharpened my ability to conceptualize cohesive visual worlds from scratch. Curation requires a macro-level understanding of how diverse mediums - photography, illustration, and spatial design - interact to provoke thought and communicate complex themes. I bring this distinct dual perspective as both maker and curator to The Atlantic, utilizing my fine art sensibilities to challenge conventional editorial layouts, elevate multi-platform brand expression, and lead design teams with an ambitious, artist-first approach.

Managing Editor, Curation, & Design

Spanning nearly a year of end-to-end development, this independent print project tracks the complete journey of creative production - from initial conceptualization to final physical distribution. Serving as Managing Editor, I collaborated directly with a curated collective of artists, writers, and designers to shape the editorial vision, curate the visual layouts, and guide the design direction. The final phase culminated in taking the project across the finish line in NYC, overseeing the physical print production and picking up the tactile, finished zines directly from the Lower East Side.

Strategy behind the image.
Instinct inside it.

I make images, I direct images, and I design the strategic systems that get them made.

Rooted in a 20-year background in art and design, my work lives at the intersection of cultural reportage, editorial storytelling, and intentional brand expression. Throughout my career as a visual director and photographer, I have led high-stakes creative projects from concept to final delivery. This includes directing international documentary assignments on the ground in South America, spearheading major multi-platform campaigns for prominent arts and media organizations, and collaborating intimately with world-class performers and writers to capture their authentic voice.

My approach combines a deep respect for the journalistic craft with a rigorous production mind. From scaling visual identities to managing complex, multi-city productions, I believe that brilliant imagery results from both uncompromised artistic vision and flawless structural execution.
